A Brief History
Hampton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church celebrates 34 years of serving the urban and world community.

Hampton Memorial was named in remembrance of a great soldier in Godís Army. The Rev. Dr. S.L. Hampton, Sr. Pastor Hampton father who made
outstanding contributions to the ministry.

During these past 34 years, Pastor Hampton has worked unselfishly for the building of Godís Kingdom devoting himself wholly, under his leadership, we have been constantly on the move forward for Christ.

Under his strong and vigorous leadership the following years after 1973 were highlighted by progressive events.

Continuing
In May a group of seven met weekly for several months, fasting and praying for direction. - In August. the Lord put in our hearts the vision to pick up the torch and keep the dream alive. Hampton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church was organized.
Continuing

Church purchased, new pews, church furniture etc. Opened a Day Care Center and Kindergarten. Then the church purchased a school bus.

Determination

Church voted to build a new edifice. Hampton Memorial launched a successful church bond.

Insistence

Purchased a Day Care Center with a capacity for 150 kids. The Church services was held at 8611 Fenkell during the building of the new church.

Dedication Ground breaking ceremony and the beginning of a new office.
Steadfastness

Marched into our new church home and Pastor Hampton vision of community outreach led to souls been added daily.

Enduring

Pastor Hampton vision continued to be fulfill with an outreach ministry for senior citizens hot lunches, senior programs, retail store, scholarship, counseling for sub-stance abuse program, teens mentoring, single ministry, bowling league, latchkey program, prison outreach ministry, adult day care, tutorial, program and sports teams.

Resilient

Burning of mortgage, continued to purchase real estate across the street to be re≠furbished for an educational center for community activities.

Commitment

Continue to teach, preach and equip the Saints ofí God with the Word, and reach the unsaved as we minister to the need of God people. Redecorated the sanctuary, added a prayer room, renovated the educational building and purchased a church bus for our bus ministry and senior programs. We celebrate and praise God for every personality pass and present for this ever growing Ministry.

Perseverance Open an Adult Day Care Center, provided a program for the family in crisis and how to avoid crisis, family intervention and computer classes for all ages. Strengthen the family spiritual and meeting the total needs of Godís People.
